Embracing Trials Part 4: Divine Guarantees

Good Morning:
I could go on for months about this but I want to share this message as a temporary end to this topic with a guarantee by our Lord when we embrace trials.

John 16:33:  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

There is a major key our Lord gives us that ensures our peace through tribulation and it is locked into two words:  "In Me".  If we abide in Christ then we will have peace.  We have also heard in Scripture, Righteousness, Peace and Joy is in the Holy Spirit.  So when all hell is breaking loose we must live from the reality of being in Christ and allow Him to be our strength when we are weak.  His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  He also guaranteed we would have tribulation but also follows that with a guaranteed victory we shall experience because if He overcame, so shall we if we abide in Him and obey His Word.

Peace and Grace,

Embracing Trials Part 3 - Comfort

Wisdom for the Day: Embracing Trials Part 3- Comfort

2 Corinthians 1:3,4:  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Here is a unique reason to why we must embrace our tribulations, because if we are to be Sons of God and be like our Heavenly Father then we must learn how to comfort others in their time but how we learn is going through trials ourselves and see the comfort and glory of God. Now in the immediate midst of the trial that maybe hard to understand but let me share this for an example.   Bianca and I have had the opportunity for 5 children.  We had two miscarriages, Sept 2008 and on Mother's day 2010.  Focusing on the first miscarriage, when it happened it was very difficult to understand why God would allow this to happen but after days went by and the Lord told me that this suffering is not in vain and we will be a witness to others.   Of course in the immediate, did not understand but 7 months later, two of our close friends ended up going through a miscarriage 7 weeks into their pregnancy and we were positioned to witness and minister to them.  We learned the comfort of God through our trial so that we can comfort others through theirs.  In comforting them through their trial the comfort of God was released through His sons to His sons.  Your suffering will strengthen your relationship with the Father so you can minister and comfort others in their time as the Father would.

Peace and Grace to you All, Calvin Calhoun
