Blind Spots - Introduction

Topic: Blind Spots - Introduction

Greetings Sons of God:

What is a blind spot?  Well many of us can relate to it in the area of transportation where there is a certain area on the outside of the vehicle that you cannot see another vehicle in your mirrors.  Some will even understand it from the area of vision where someone can stand or there is a object in a area around you that you cannot see so we say that you are standing or it is in my blind spot.  Well do you know that we have blind spots in the spirit?  It is urgent that we address these blind spots in the spirit because these are areas of our lives that the enemy desires to use to hinder the work of God and what He has purposed for you.  Let me say it is a blind spot for a reason so you are not aware of it. We will of course put Scripture to this but let us lead with this Scripture and for the sake of time I will simply give the Scripture you must seek and read it for yourself:

Acts 9:1-9 – Saul and the Damascus Road Experience
Here we know Saul is on his way with a legal document to persecute the church but notice that He is stop by Jesus and notice Jesus said “Why are you persecuting me?”  Saul is going to persecute the church but Jesus says you are persecuting me.  This speaks to the Oneness we have with Christ.  We in Him and He in us (John 17).  Now notice Saul was a chosen vessel unto the Lord to preach the gospel to the Gentiles.  So on the road a bright light shines all around him.  So we know he can see the light but after Jesus gave him his directions he was without sight (blind) for three days. Saul received his sight after Ananias laid his hands upon him and Saul was filled with the Holy Spirit.  The Scriptures declare it was like scales falling from his eyes.  Saul was blind to his destiny and purpose until He had an encounter with the living God.  He could not see until the Spirit of God dwelled within him.  So here is Principle #1:

John 1:4:  In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.

It is only by the Holy Spirit can your blind spots be revealed. This is the absolute first step to lifting the veil of darkness over those particular areas of your life.  The Spirit of God dwelling in you is the Light of men and notice it says darkness could not comprehend it.  When you light a match in a completely dark room, it is no longer dark. Darkness cannot hide light.  Well you may say, If I am saved then how cold I still have blind spots and I have the Light of Christ dwelling within?  It depend upon which component of you is in control.  Let me show you this quickly and we will continue this in the next message.

Man is made up of a spirit, soul and flesh.  The soul is our freewill center.  The spirit is where we are one with the Holy Spirit when we receive the Spirit of Christ. The flesh is our housing that allows us to interact with the visible world.  Now depending on which one, the soul or the spirit, you listen to determines how you live your life and even your perception of live and its circumstances.  When you live by your soul you will have many blind spots because you are unable to see spiritually in a spiritual war and that is not good especially with a enemy who is a spirit roaming around seeking who he may devour.  But when you live from the Spirit of God, light is brought to those blind spots and it gives the enemy less ground and places to hide and attack you in your mind.  This is why it is only when Saul is baptized with the Spirit that he receives his sight as well as his destiny and what he was called to do.

In the next message we will look at the ministry of the Word of God.
